LAUD Architects staff enjoyed the company anniversary holiday in Hongkong/Shenzhen over a period of 4 days in October 2024.  The architectural sites, focus of the holiday trip, provided an insightful perspective to the buildings and monuments between traditionality and modernity to the structure and façade which are influenced by the colonial and post-colonial periods.

IM Pei & Museum + exhibitions revealed the talent, ingenuity and creative mind with deep passion for pioneering significant design blending with community and environment that resound well in his Life Is Architecture.  295 Tai Kwun with the former Central Prison Station, Central Magistracy and Victoria Prison give a glimpse to the space urbanization and development.  JC Cube stands in contrast to the historic building and prison halls shows the majestic and peaceful blending between the design of the old and the new.  Prison staff quarters at Staunton are converted into a hip marketplace, cafes and shops which attract people to find a good buy.

Stepping into Xiuqi Centre, which is established for preserving and promoting Chinese opera rendered a grandeur experience.  Open spaces with circular concrete platform with high ceiling of unique circular design enables individual to feel relaxed and refreshed even resting and walking in the centre.

These are worthy sites for holidaymakers and travellers to see apart from the other tourist attractions as these buildings, monuments and museums present the life, history, development and growth of Hongkong.

The company holiday trip to Hongkong/Shenzhen was made possible with the invaluable assistance from Chan Brothers MICE & Travel Pte Ltd. Our appreciation and compliment to May Loo, Senior Account Manager for her service and support which has been on time, never late or later. And Kenneth Lee, tour leader for his co-ordination of the actual trip with tour guides in Hongkong & Shenzhen, and care shown at the right time.
